BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:40 P.M.) – The rebel forces in southwest Syria alleged on Tuesday afternoon that their fighters had downed a Syrian Air Force jet above the Daraa Governorate.
According to the pro-opposition media activists, members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) scored a direct hit on the fighter jet using a guided missile near the town of Maliha Al-Sharqiyah.
The Syrian Air Force MiG-23 fighter eventually crashed in the Daraa countryside, while the pilot managed to eject near the scene.
The pro-opposition activists claim that the pilot has since been captured by their forces in rural Dara.
