DAMASCUS, SYRIA (8:30 P.M.) – An uplifting video emerged from rural Raqqa on Saturday, showing a European volunteer embedded with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) having fun with children in Tabqa city which was liberated from the Islamic State last week.

Michael Enright, a veteran still holding a British passport, was shown playing with a handful of Syrian adolescents who were visible amused by the ordeal of punching the foreigner.

Michael Enright – who stared in many Hoolywood films including Pirates of the Caribbean – joined the People’s Protection Units’ YPG back in 2015; this Kurdish militia makes up the bulk of SDF militants whom are heavily supported by the United States.

The video also showed SDF and YPG flags flying in the background with peace seemingly prevailing across the city which witnessed 50 days of heavy clashes.

According to a US statement, the SDF struck a deal with ISIS which had 70 jihadist militants evacuated in the 11th hour in return for leaving Tabqa Dam unscathed.
