BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:40 P.M.) – A motorized regiment of an elite Syrian military detachment has been sent to the front-lines in southeastern Idlib to bolster army forces for a major operational against armed Islamist militias.

An entire heavy machine gun regiment belonging to the Syrian Air Force Intelligence Directorate is being sent to reinforce Syrian Arab Army units currently battling it out against armed rebel groups in Idlib province’s southeastern countryside.

The regiment comprises many dozens of armed pickups (commonly referred technicals) that have been outfitted with heavy machine guns. The unit’s role is back up infantry assaults by  providing close fire support for storming troops.

To this end, it is understood that the Syrian Army is planning a new operation to fully drive back all the gains made by Islamist militias against the western flank of its advance into Idlib.

Soldiers within the ranks of the heavy machine gun regiment released a promotional video (available at the end of this article) of their journey to Idlib, showcasing the equipment which they will use on the battlefield.

Oh the Syrians how I feel for you, They (USA and it’s allies) have ruined your country, tricked your country men into killing each other, allowed mass violence and warfare to exist and destroyed the cultural image of Syria using the media. Oh may the true Syrian people win this war of foreign aggression and sectarian conflict and regain it’s lost beauty. God willing the SAA and it’s allies will be the victors in Syria and life will one day return to normal in these parts.
