BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:10 A.M.) – Footage has been released on social media showing troops of the Qalamoun Shield Forces pro-government paramilitary group engaging ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Hama Governorate.

The video (shown below) is linked to an advance made late yesterday afternoon by units of the Qalamoun Shield Forces in which they secured a string of key hilltops and points from ISIS terrorists in the region.

The capture of these sites has given the Qalamoun Shield Forces fire control over the strategic ISIS-held town of Salba and to this end it is expected that the terrorist group will soon withdraw from the settlement to avoided unnecessary losses at the hands of pro-government artillery.

The Qalamoun Shield Forces are a veteran pro-government formation (currently about the size of a reinforced regiment) that has, in support of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) operations, held its own in major battles across Syria against both ISIS and rebel groups.
