Recent government advances in Aleppo have been extensively supported by Syrian and Russian airstrikes while the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) artillery units have also paved the way for the SAA’s infantry to win the upper hand in the battle for Syria’s largest city.

Notably, aerial drone surveillance has played an instrumental role in allowing precise strikes on Islamist insurgent positions across rebel-held eastern Aleppo and have also served to significantly limit inevitable collateral damage.

The above footage – released by the Syrian Government’s media department – shows recent air raids on the Hanano district and old Sheikh Najjar area in eastern Aleppo.
