DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:55 P.M.) – The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released drone footage on Monday showing Tabqa Airport fully under its control as previously reported by Al-Masdar News. The airbase, located southwest of Raqqa city, was captured by Kurdish-led forces on Sunday after ISIS fighters withdrew from the facility.

Meanwhile, the SDF continued its Euphrates Wrath operations around Tabqa city and finally took full control of the embattled Tabqa Dam. Furthermore, the US-backed troops expelled Islamic State insurgents from the nearby villages of Al-Mazlum and Sahl al-Khashab, thereby moving ever closer to the provincial capital of Raqqa.

Tabqa Airbase witnessed a massacre of some 200 Syrian soldiers in August 2014 when ISIS overran the site after a prolonged siege which lasted over a year.

In other news, Tabqa Dam has sustained significant damage due to US airstrikes.

Luckily, The SDF are also supported by France, Russia, and the Iraqi Kurds.

You forgot Germany and well, if you say France+Germany, you can simply say EU as they’re the locomotives…
And even by Syrian govt supports as they regularly supply ammos.
Note that the few clashes were between the Asayish (Kurdish police) and NDF (pro govt militias), not between SDF/YPG and SAA and were due to local issues.
It’s a bit boring to constantly read that SDF is an US proxy while actually, everybody backs them but Turkey, Qatar, KSA, IS and al-Qaeda 😀

A few hundreds GIs are nowhere near to annex anything, it’s not Panama or Grenada. Now, maybe would you wish ZERO action from the coalition and so no SDF too, thus, all the northern region having fallen under IS hands and, BTW, SAA having to cope -nearly- alone with the full power of both ISIS and Nusra’n’Co? Now, for sure, the deep-state acted really dirty under Obongo administration and him, HRC and Kerry would clearly deserve to end at the ICC. Hopefully, the DoD, even if there may be some issues, acted on the good side while congress was able… Read more »
