DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:10 P.M.) – Rebel factions in Daraa province, known as Southern Front, delivered a massive military parade as more Syrian Army reinforcements arrive for the major assault.

The parade involved large numbers of rebel fighters, machinegun-mounted vehicles, tanks, BMPs, medium and heavy artillery.

The rebel forces, according to opposition sources, have been deployed to various front-lines across the southern province in order to confront the Syrian troops.

However, the parade was met with mockery by several opposition media outlets and activists, describing it as a ‘useless and ridiculous brag’ that will end up in all rebel fighters either surrendering to the Syrian forces or taking the trip to Idlib under an evacuation deal.

Maybe am I too vicious when it comes to strategy but…
Such kind of parade is the perfect event for using an air force and do a “turkey shooting” : begin by blasting both the front and the queue of the parade first to create a traffic-jam with the first wave, then 2nd wave coming 1 minute later blasts anything in between…
All the gear paraded is out, moreover, it’s devastating for morale while ridiculing the incompetence of the force’s leaders.

The South Front is lucky that You do not counsel the SAA. Blink.

p.s. You cannot do much. The parades are not published in advance.
Else it would be a perfect chance.

“The South Front is lucky that You do not counsel the SAA 😉 ” => They’re not the only ones in this case… But I would have had to be here since Bashar came to power and better had listened to me, not on the military side only “p.s. You cannot do much. The parades are not published in advance. Else it would be a perfect chance.” => You have to prepare the parade and call your supporters to intend => It might not be advertised on TV (LOL) but enough to have your intelligence warning you and a well… Read more »

A few tanks, some trucks and few faction flags flying. What a sad parade indeed. The once large FSA who had country of the entire half of the Syria at one point suffering constant failure after failure. Now they have been pushed back into Daraa, Afrin the Desert and Idlib? Oh wait they don’t even have control of Idlib HTS does. FSA used to consist of more than 100 unified groups now most groups are joining the SDF, fighting each other or defecting to Assad.

Oh, all this was planned for long… By 2012, 85% of FSA were already jihadists… In fact, things initially went out of hand due to the double agenda Turkey/Qatar/KSA had. It’s obvious that Yanks were just in to pressure Assad into accepting the US-built Qatar=>EU pipeline. As the axis of bigotry began to pour fanatical zealots, everybody agreed, even Russians or Chinese, to let all their lunatics go and then make the purge… Syria is the biggest cockroach trap in history! Actually, letting them taking land and even some cities was the bait, even the very limited number of US… Read more »
