DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:35 P.M.) – Hundreds of civilians in Daraa province took the streets to welcome the Syrian Army forces which entered their towns following a reconciliation agreement with rebel groups.
Militants in the towns of Ibta’a, Da’el and Tafas located north of Daraa city accepted to surrender to the Syrian Army and hand over all their weapons in exchange of having their status settled.
Prior to the reconciliation, the government forces conducted heavy artillery and rocket shelling on rebel positions and headquarters; killing and wounding scores.
Several towns and villages declared willingness to negotiate a reconciliation dead with the Syrian government after the military campaign had achieved notable success across the province.
Video footage filmed and posted by a Russian media shows civilians in the reconciled towns chanting in favor of the Syrian Army and holding high the national flags.
