BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:26 P.M.) – Injured civilians caught up in the intensifying battle between Iraqi forces, their allies, and the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Mosul received treatment at a hospital in Erbil on Thursday.

“Today the hospital is full of civilians” said humanitarian response manager Giacomo Menaldo.

He estimated 120 wounded were being brought to Erbil every day.

Almost 100,000 Iraqis have been displaced by the battle in the 19 days since February 25, according to the latest estimates by the UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM).
