At least two civilians were killed and other 18 resulted injured in the government-controlled city of Homs after a new round of shelling by Islamist rebels from the northern countryside.
Rebels shelling targeted several government buildings located on the city centre.
Reports also stated that a bomb was detonated the day before, killing at least three civilians.
Rebel factions – such as Ahrar al-Sham, Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (JFS) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) – still have an important presence in the Rastan Plains, right up the provincial capital, making it vulnerable to such kind of attacks.
