BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 P.M.) – The U.S. does not plan on extending their stay in Syria after the Islamic State (ISIL) is defeated, the Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, Heather Nauert stated this week.

“That is not our plan, our intent is to defeat ISIS,” Nauert said when asked if the United States plans to stay in Syria after defeating ISIS, as quoted by Ara News Agency.

“Syria must be governed by its own people and not by the United States or other forces,” Nauert added.

This latest statement by the U.S. State Department comes after some reports surfaced claiming the U.S. plans to remain in Syria for several years.

Tomorrow she will be saying the opposite I suppose 🙂
Either way the Kurds will be left to hang out to dry by the US . Keeping Turkey in NATO is strategically more important than the Kurdish issue.

Yes, US will not stay in Syria. They’ll remain in Kurdistan though.

Except that with the building of the EU-Army, we’re pretty likely to dissolve NATO once it’s fully working… The planned budget is €250bln. This is more than the cumulated budget of all EU countries including UK (€223bln)
“We Europeans really have to take our destiny into our own hands.”-Angela Merkel

Nevertheless, I fully agreed with the Trump when he said this :
“NATO is obsolete, it’s old, it’s fat, it’s sloppy.”-Donald J.Trump
Thus he changed advice since 😆

How would the EU army be controlled ? By 1 vote per state or by a ‘per capita ‘ % of each of the member nations ?

And would that include the numbers of all the Illegal Immigrants 🙂

I think the US are furious at the SDF commander who uncovered the US real intentions in Syria. The US likes playing it double face to let its adversary lower the guard so that it can do its bidding behind the scenes and then announce its true intentions at fait accompli leaving no room for its opponent to take counter measures. So Syria, simply has to ignore this apparent reassuring statement by the US and act and take urgent measures according to the previous statement by the SDF commander.
