BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:40 P.M.) – The United States will allow Iranian military elements and Iranian-backed militias operating in Syria to take up positions within eight kilometers of the Israeli-occupied Golan border region according to a report released yesterday by the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat news agency.

The report stated that an agreement to allow both actual Iranian forces and Iranian proxies in Syria to establish bases as close as eight kilometers to both the Jordanian and Israeli borders was recently reached between US and Russian diplomats following talks in Jordan.

This report comes at a time when Russia has official downplayed Israeli hysteria over the presence of Iranian forces in Syria, refusing to entertain Netanyahu’s claims that Iran is preparing to attack Israel.

If it is in fact true that the US will grant such concessions to Iranian forces – actual and proxy – in Syria, then it indicates that the US too finds no validity in Israeli claims that Iran’s anti-terrorism operations throughout the war-stricken nation threatens Israel directly or indirectly.

Despite officially being neutral, Israel has participated in the Syrian War on the side of jihadist militias, helping to worsen security and humanitarian conditions in the country.

In addition to backing Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist organizations such as the Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) jihadist group with weapons, intelligence and medical aid, Israel has repeatedly carried out airstrikes against pro-government forces (sometimes in direct support of sectarian militias on the ground) under the guise of preventing the transportation of Iranian-built strategic weapons (now referred to as “game-changing” weapons in Israeli lingo) to Hezbollah.

Indeed, USA were not invited into Syria themselves and have no right to be there. Just shows their utter arrogance and contempt when it comes to international affairs.

I think it’s supposed to be about how Netanyahu uses fear-mongering about outside threats to shore up his domestic support. He doesn’t have a lot else going for him to get votes.

More likely in the goal to get Israeli’s quarter as the Trump signed big contracts in the Gulf. If USA sales $1bln weapons in Arab countries, Israel receives $250M.
Moreover, they wanted F-15SE Silent Eagle, thus Obongo imposed the crappy unworking F-35, in fact, USA refused the semi-steath version of F15 to anybody while most of Israeli F-15 and F-16 are more than 30 years old now, there are 300 aircraft to replace…

Israel controls large segments of American Government. This ‘owning’ America starts with LAWS against saying or writing commentary that Israel believes is harmful to Israel’s image as a people loving, peaceful country. This crime is punishable by ‘ridicule from one’s peers, to fines and jail’ and the punishments are levied out whether the ‘Offending’ statements are true or false. Do You understand You can be fined or jailed for speaking or writing, the truth. Not just in Israel, but in many parts of the world including, Europe and America. A second reason Israel owns parts of American Government is, bribery… Read more »

So, they can deploy at least to Ramallah, Nablus, and Mt. Hermon etc. if we take “Israeli borders” as defined by the United Nations.

Actually, according to art.80 of UN charter, UN has no right to define border of ANY nation. Actually, UN only did proposals that propaganda said they defined as borders. Even if the UNSC or UNGA recognise some border, it has really no value, this is wishful thinking with the expectancy it will be accepted by locals by signing the proposal. What is amusing is that Israelis were agreeing to sign several formulas since 1947 but it was ALWAYS Arab leaders that refused to sign anything! As no treaty was EVER signed at local level (and these are the only ones… Read more »

You’re undermining your own pro-Israel position. You’re correct that the UN in fact didn’t create Israel; instead they issued a recommendation paper. But after that Israel unilaterally declared its existence, claiming roughly half of the land in mandate Palestine despite only owning about 7% of it (and Zionists were always clear that this was merely the starting point: if it belonged to ancient Israel or Judah, they think it belongs by right to modern Israel). You’re also deploying your usual lies. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2006/jun/22/israel. That entire issue is a boondoggle anyway; Israel is already an internationally recognized state. Whether Palestinians accept it… Read more »
