BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) – US State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert called on Russia to “withdraw its forces” from Abkhazia and South Ossetia during a White House press briefing in Washington DC, Tuesday.

“Our position on the Russian-occupied Georgia regions of Abkhazia and also South Ossetia is unwavering, that remains unwavering today. The regions are part of Georgia, they are not part of Russia,” states Nauert.

“The United States urges Russia to withdraw its forces to the pre-invasion war positions, per the 2008 ceasefire agreement,” she added.

Commenting on whether the US will support Georgia to become a member of NATO, Nauert stated that NATO made a decision on the matter during the 2008 Bucharest Summit, adding that “Georgia will become a member of NATO.”

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

I was thinking the same as you. The US is so deep in its ‘exceptional circa 21.3 trillion dollar national debt , that mass insanity has taken hold of that enfeebled country.

Such hubristic insanity has been the precursor for the demise of all previous empires. 🙂
