DEIR EZZOR, SYRIA (2:00 P.M.) – The U.S. Air Force struck the Deir Ezzor Goernorate for the 2nd time this month on Tuesday, targeting the Political Brigade inside the town of Al-Mayadeen.

According to local reports, the U.S. Air Force destroyed the Political Bridge after launching a surprise attack this morning in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The first U.S. airstrike in the Deir Ezzor Governorate was conducted earlier this month, when their warplanes attacked the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) at the Thardeh Mountains near the provincial capital.

No further details were reported from Deir Ezzor.

Syrian S-300 are still on order for a while…
But this wasn’t at all an attack against SAA, in fact, this one goes more in the way of SAA job as this bridge helps Daesh to move vehicles…

Apparently this bridge was destroyed almost exactly 2 years ago by the SAA… When was it rebuilt? Hasn’t it been in Daesh hands for the past 2 years, since July 2014?

It should be Political Bridge… It’s a bridge over the Euphrates River that Daesh were using for the couple of months before it was destroy by the SAA 2 years ago…

Not a Nusra but a Daesh area.
This strike helps disrupting Daesh’s operations as the bridge helped them to pass heavy gear to the city.

Just had a look on Google Earth, and it appears that the destruction of the Political Bridge by the SAA 2 years ago actually only resulted in very minor damage… I wonder how much damage this US airstrike did?

If they used 2000lbs JDAMs or GBU-10, there may be nothing left from the bridge. In fact, the LGB were especially created as aircrafts used to need many raids with full squadrons to f**k up serious bridges in Vietnam…

It really seems too. In fact, as long as WH or DoS don’t interfere, US militaries always performed very well in history.

Seems that Amaq is not so happy about this strike as it was the only bridge to cross the Euphrates in the area : it greatly disrupts Daesh’s operations…
It’s not without reasons that I don’t want to condemn systematically the US and point that things are much more complex as many would like as there are opposing forces inside the US system and if there are really nasty and extremely powerful mofos like Killary or the infamous McCain, there are also others that really want to finish off terrorists…
