US presence in Syria and other regions was called “illegal and rejected” during a tripartite military meeting of the top military chiefs of Syria, Iran and Iraq call the in Damascus on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference following the meeting, Syrian Defence Minister Ali Abdullah Ayoub said, “America and others shall get out of Syria as they have gotten out of other regions, for such existence is illegal and rejected, no matter what justifications are circulated.”
“Syria had stressed out the necessity of such forces withdrawal without provisions, for they are forces of occupation, and they violate the sovereignty of the Syrian state,” added Ayoub.
Calling the meeting “excellently successful in all aspects and levels,” he said the gathering would help the countries “confront the challenge and dangers as well as the threats caused by the widespread of Takfiri terrorism and its expansion.”
“Terrorism was never meant to target Syria and Iraq, rather, it targeted the entire world,” Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Armed Forces Othman Al-Ghanimi stressed.
