BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 A.M.) – The U.S. is seeking to block Turkey’s upcoming invasion of northern Syria so that Ankara does not harm the Kurdish people, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Newsmax on Thursday.

“We still have lots of things to work with on the Turks,” Pompeo told Newsmax on Thursday.

“Not only the withdrawal, but all of the other elements that the President laid out: the importance of ensuring that the Turks don’t slaughter the Kurds; the protection of religious minorities there in Syria. All of those things are still part of the American mission set,” Pompeo continued.

Last month, U.S. President Donald Trump made a surprise announcement that all American troops in Syria would be withdrawn from the country.

Trump’s announcement would be met with a great deal of criticism from neocon Republican politicians, including South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham.

However, despite the pressure from politicians within his own party, Trump said that all U.S. troops in Syria would be withdrawn within the near future.

Set up another phone call with Erdog and ask Trump to clearly tell him Amrika stopped a slaughter of people during WWII and what happened to Japan. To stop the slaughter of Kurds Amrika has all options. Hope Sultan gets the message.

Note that Japan slaughtered about 10 millions Chineses during WW2 and there were still doing very bad things there when Little Boy and Fatman were used 😉

@Daeshbags-Sux, myth and propaganda. Do You still believe all this?

The A-bombs were dropped with the sole reason to impress the Soviets. Weapons of mass destruction used on civilians without strategic reason. The war was decided against Japan at that time.

Nevertheless, with Russia in bed with both Turkey and Syria and the fact they did let Erdogan invade Afrin while SAA has zero chance to cope with Turkish army, even if allied with SDF, even if many may not like it, It’s the US presence in Rojava that prevents the Ottoman barbaric hordes to rush into Rojava because even Erdogan is not enough dumb to attack US militaries. In some ways, I which he was, thus sealing his own doom. Someone as evil as Erdog wouldn’t be a loss for mankind.

@Daeshbags-Sux, the Kurds were in bed as allies with the US at that time. So the US failed to provide protection – it was not Russia’s job to do so after the Kurds of Afrin declined to re-join the Syrian state.

The Sultanate has sure a big army. But why did the Sultan ask for US handouts so that he can fight IS and replace the Kurds in this fight?

p.s. The Sultan cleansed the Turkish army much like Stalin cleansed the Soviet army. Remember the Winter war just after the Soviet cleansings?

@Daeshbags-Sux, Turkey lacks well trained tankers and pilots. Syria has both plus operational SS 300. It is a largely Turkish conscript army that attacks and battle hardened regular Kurd YPG and Syrian SAA that are on the defense. So. What makes You think the fight is one sided?

Plus. The French are also in Rojana as allies. Will the French fight or put their tails between their legs like dogs and run to mother Merkel to get Germans and other EU partners to join – when the Sultan’s ghazi come?

p.s. Hint. The Kanzlerin already politely warned the Sultan.
