BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:30 P.M.) – The U.S. Defense Department identified on Friday three out of the four Americans that were killed in Manbij this week as a result of an Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh).

According to a press release from the Defense Department, the three U.S. military personnel were identified as Army Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan R. Farmer, 37, Navy Chief Cryptologic Technician Shannon M. Kent, 35 and Scott A. Wirtz.

The fourth American that was killed has not been identified at this time; however, the U.S. national is believed to be a military contractor that was working inside Syria.

The terrorist attack by the Islamic State on Wednesday killed over 20 people, including four Americans that were present in the area at the time.

There were 16 others killed in this. Are they of no importance by comparison.

Interesting. A top-secret spying mission involving a cryptologic warfare expert, and they were so careless? Or just unlucky? It looks more likely their mission was compromised, and they were specifically targeted – meaning, someone knew about them and what they were planning. Could be ISIS, Kurds, Turks, Syrians or Russians did it. There will be consequences, though – that was an A-Team if ever there was one, and the US will go gunning for whoever did it.
