BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – The U.S. military and their allies from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) opened fire on a Syrian government ferry that was attempting to transport oil in the Euphrates River Valley.

According to the pro-SDF Deir Ezzor Media Center page on Facebook, the U.S. Coalition forces fired shots at the Syrian government ferry as it was traveling down the Euphrates River.

The U.S. has been preventing Syria from transporting oil from neighboring countries like Iraq because of the Trump administration’s ongoing sanctions against the government in Damascus.

Syria is experiencing a nationwide fuel crisis as a result of these sanctions; it has forced the government to ration of fuel to civilians in order to maintain their current supply.

Some reports claim that fuel from Iran recently arrived on May 5th; however, nothing has been confirmed by the Syrian government.

Iran, who is also sanctioned, has had their ships blocked at the Suez Canal if their destination is Syria.

Below is the link to the DMC’s video showing the Syrian government ferry being targeted by Coalition Forces:

So this is US military applying their sanctions (not the UN’s) on Syria preventing the latter from transporting oil down its own Euphrates River. That’s an interesting take on the USA’s “freedom of navigation” which it so strongly espouses in the S. China Sea.

Many fuel trucks are usually travelling to Syria from Irak border near Al Bukamal! all that area are west of Eufrates under control of IRGC and Iraqi PMU… I dont think that SDF dont allow fuel trucks to Syria because there are Kurdish SDF in North of Aleppo under control of SAA beside thousands of Kurds usually go to Syria to fight turkish backed terrorist in Afrin area!

When you do not stand up to the bully (US) he will consider you soft and keep doing his nasty deeds. Millions became slaves but millions more chose death over slavery. Syria needs to stand up for itself or the bully will feel you are getting whay you deserve for being cowards.

SDF decepciona, quedó el olvido la defensiva heroica de Kobani que se llegó a comparar con Stalingrado, ahora al servicio del imperio.
Esta es la prueba de como EE.UU. ayuda a los mercenarios que socavan al pueblo Sirio.

Why must the US support the terrorists?
Fortunately, Putin has the Russian air force in Syria, they are destroying the Islamists.

Well, it seems a bit odd to me… Since there is oil implied and that usually, machinegun rounds are either API (armour piercing/incendiary) or HEF (high-explosive/fragmentation) any hit would have serious consequences in the kaboom style, in fact even with FMJ : any spark or tracer round, then the flames come up… Very poor quality video, it may be anything, maybe even going after smugglers into taking oil to Daesh in the Badya al-Sham, in fact, it’s more likely the case : oil trucks are circulating freely between Iraq and Syria, the biggest problem is not getting oil, it’s paying… Read more »

I will break it down for you. Year ago or so, ISIS peacefully turned oilfields over to Kurds, no shots fired. ISIS turned the baton over to the Kurds. Locals recently reporting Kurds selling oilfields to investors. Investors are being contacted by ISIS and pay 1K/daily. Kurds likely gave the names to ISIS, kickbacks. Kurds and ISIS are running a racket. ISIS does not need to get oil as they have access to fields. Kurds & ISIS are business partners. Also of note, US military expelled Kurds from one field and are now the occupiers. Guessing US does not want… Read more »
