BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – The North American Air Defense Command announced on Thursday that the United States has intercepted Russian Tupolev T-95 MS strategic bombers near Alaska.

According to the North American Air Defense Command, U.S. F-22 Raptor fighter jets intercepted the Russian strategic bombers after their radars tracked the latter approaching their airspace.

The statement pointed out that the two Russian bombers did not violate the American or Canadian airspace, noting that they were within the identification area of the American Air Defense, 200 miles off the coast of Alaska.

The leadership pointed out that the incident occurred on Tuesday, in international airspace, west of Alaska.
