BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:15 P.M.) – The U.S. Coalition has denied leading the drone attack on the Hmeymim Airbase in southwest Latakia, despite Russia’s claims that they have proof of Washington’s participation.

Speaking to Sputnik News Agency on Friday, the Spokesperson for Operation Inherent Resolve, Sean Ryan, said that the U.S. had no role in the drone strikes on the Hmeymim Airbase.

“Any suggestion that the US or coalition forces played a role in an attack on a Russian base is without any basis in fact and is utterly irresponsible,” Ryan told Sputnik.

The Russian military accused the U.S. Coalition on Thursday of leading the assault on the Hmyemim Airbase with their reconnaissance planes.

Prior to these allegations, the Syrian military claimed that the U.S. Coalition was spying on their newly acquired S-300 systems using their reconnaissance drones.

No matter. The US spy plane was in the vicinity for good reasons.

Opportunity or design – ?

The US plane was there for the US knew that the Russian defence would be triggered – how could the US know and send a plane without prior knowledge? Supplying the gear is a path to knowledge.

Else they just gripped the chance and high-jacked the drones to facilitate spying and exploring Russian gear.

p.s. Instead of saying: Heyh guys You have some Jihadi drones coming.

Stern : P-8 Poseidon is a Maritime Patrol asset, not a RC-135V/W ‘spy-plane’ used for EW (electronic warfare). It’s just like if we had a Bréguet Atlantic-2, soon to be replaced by A319 MPA, doing a patrol.

Well, the Americans would say that now, wouldn’t they?

Especially since P-8 role is to hunt ships and submarines, not to over-ride drones remote control! Would have be credible if an EC-135V/W had been used, not a P-8!
