BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:50 P.M.) – The U.S. military is still training Syrian rebels at their base in Jordan, the spokesman for the Al-Umari Brigade said on Saturday, as quoted by the Smart News Agency.

Despite some rumors that the U.S. had completely scrapped this program, it appears they will continue training Syrian rebel groups to fight the Islamic State.

However, the U.S. has made it clear they are not committed to training or aiding rebel groups in their fight against the Syrian government and their allies in southern Syria.

As a result of the U.S.’ position, many rebel factions have quit the Anti-ISIL Coalition, citing Washington’s refusal to support their fight against the Syrian government as the primary reason for their discontent.

In response to the U.S.’ position, several rebel groups in southern Syria have formed a coalition of their own that is dedicated to fighting the Syrian government and their allies.

This new rebel coalition will not receive any support from the U.S. or Jordan, as its primary focus is not to fight the Islamic State.

This is a typical US deception and yet another display of dishonesty.
The US/CIA military is again doubling down on stupidity.

I fully agree that the UK is the Yankee Poodle.
BUT their illegal actions are not in my name.

I am ashamed that the British government is de facto supporting terrorism in a foreign land ( again).

“their primary objective is to fight ISIS” does the author not know that the US is in fact ISIS? fix your d**n wording because there’s still a c**p load of people who buy that s**t. and the context your speaking in suggests that ISIS is an independant body when in fact several articles on this d**n site alone proves it otherwise. so why not type words in your article that speaks that truth? how can you cover a story one day about ISIS having israeli ammo crates and US guns and then post some bullcrap like this?!?! just come at… Read more »

What this tells us is that the groups the US was/is supporting are far more sympathetic to islamist mercenaries than to their own Syrian people and nation.
This allows them (jihadists) to continue along their way in terrorising the Syrian nation without compromising the US’ claimed position of being in Syria only to defeat ISIL.
Question – if these folks would rather chum up w/ ISIL to fight the SAA, then why are they not a legitimate target for the Yanks also?!
