BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 P.M.) – The U.S. can never back any Syrian force aligned with the government in Damascus, U.S. Army Lieutenant General Paul LaCamera, who is the commander of the U.S.-led coalition battling Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, said on Sunday.

When asked if that support would continue if they aligned themselves with Assad, LaCamera said: “No.”

“Once that relationship is severed, because they go back to the regime, which we don’t have a relationship with, (or) the Russians … when that happens then we will no longer be partners with them,” LaCamera told a small group of reporters.

LaCemera’s comments were in reference to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Council seeking a political settlement with the Syrian government.

“We will continue to train and arm them as long as they remain our partners,” LaCamera added.

kurds are loyal and have honour – they are not back stabbing, thieving arabs

But they will exact a price for that one sided loyalty. The price will likely be paid in heavier arms. Were I SDF, I would demand artillery and manoads, ATGM, all to be had cheaply from Ukrainian stocks from the soviet era.

Btw I mostly agree to your assessment of arabs. It likely stems from being a tribally oriented society where loyalty is only to the tribe, not to a nation or society.

I’m a bit alarmed by your lack of knowledge on Arabs and Kurds. Arabs are incredibly tribal and much more so than the Kurds. You clearly know nothing about Bedouin culture and even Arabs in general. Kurds are mainly of Indo-European descent. The tribal culture between the two doesn’t even compare. Know what you’re talking about before commenting.

Bedouins are Arabs. What an outrageous claim. And what do you mean “lived with”? Or is this just more lying (shocker!)?

So now you’ve edited your comment after realizing what you said made no sense. Attention other readers: Johnny was (the commenter above) wrote that he “lived with bedouins” and that the bedouins “hate Arabs”. Now ask yourself if his opinion is even worth reading.

Levantines are NOT ARABS!
They’re either Assyrians or Aramaeans (ethnic Jews self converted to Christianity then forced into Islam by Arab invades)

Call them Middle Easterners for all I care. And btw Judaism does not predate the civilizations of the Levant. The Old Testament was written in the 1st millennium BC while many civilizations existed in current-day Palestine thousands of years prior. No matter how you cut it, the Palestinians are the descendants of these civilizations – NOT the people of Russia, Poland, and the rest of Europe. They’re as much Middle Eastern as the Chinese.

Trying to overthrow the government that gave your people autonomy in the country you reside in so that you can appease folks from the West and Israel (a racist apartheid state) is what you call “loyal” and having “honor”? Taking advantage of ISIS and trying to seize the territory it once held (in a bid to loot its resources) until the SAA and Iraqi army pushed them out of it is “loyal” and shows “honor”? Colluding with the enemy is “loyal” and shows “honor”?

You’re uneducated. Wouldn’t be surprised if you dropped out of high school. The Syrians and Iraqis (Arabs) gave the Kurds autonomy – meaning that they literally gave them self-governship over large swaths of Syria and Iraq. As for fighting ISIS, you haven’t been following the news: the SAA have almost completely wiped out ISIS from Western Syria. Eastern/Northern Syria (Kurdish territory) are the only areas where they hold territory.

Wrong! Iraqi Kurds got autonomy since UNSC ordered a NoFly Zone ‘coz Saddam used chemicals weapons against them, then the Yanks enforced it shooting down any IqAF aircraft approaching, also demolishing any Saddam’s SAM around as they also gave a little air support in order to bounce Saddam’s land army from the area! Kurds hadn’t even the right to speak Kurdish for 50 years in Syria or else, they could end jailed. Last time Syrian Kurds and Druzes had some form of autonomy was under the French Mandate! Unless something new happens, Assad refuses any form of autonomy or federalism,… Read more »

Wrong. “Regional autonomy had originally been established in 1970 with the creation of the Kurdish Autonomous Region following the agreement of an Autonomy Accord between the government of Iraq and leaders of the Iraqi Kurdish community” under pressure from the Soviet Union. Have a look at Wikipedia yourself.

Israel is less racist than the rest of the Middle-East, BTW, Israeli Arabs live together with the Jews, have the same rights, have even their Arab party at the Knesset, a supreme court judge is an Arab. There is no apartheid. Palestinians? Even PLO and Hamas leaders, including Egyptian Yasser Arafat confessed they are not natives and they’re a fraud created for the sole purpose to destroy the state of Israel from the inside. The idea of posing as victims even came from Vietnamese general Giap and the narrative was then refined by KGB. And BdS was the special Gestapo… Read more »

So what you’re saying is that if the Arabs conform and become Israeli, they’re given the same rights? Also, I’ve never seen so much propaganda in a single paragraph. The Israelis engage in apartheid and the whole world knows it as do the Israelis. Keep chirping.
