BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 A.M.) – The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have transferred the corpses of 45 Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers that were recently discovered in rural Al-Raqqa.
According to a report from the National Defense Forces (NDF), the SDF discovered more than 300 corpses around the town of the ‘Ayn ‘Issa, which was the location of the Syrian Arab Army’s 2014 battle against the Islamic State (ISIS) at the Brigade 93 Base.
The NDF report added that the Syrian Democratic Forces handed over the first batch of corpses and helped transport them to a government hospital in Aleppo.
The Syrian government is now working to identify the corpses of the fallen soldiers in order to notify the families and allow for proper burials.
