BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:30 A.M.) – The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have made significant advances in eastern Syria over the last ten says, seizing several areas from the remaining Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists.
Most recently, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to seize more points in northeast Al-Hasakah, forcing the Islamic State to fall back towards the Iraqi border.
According to the Syrian Civil War Map, the Syrian Democratic Forces captured the towns of Hadajah, Jabal Haddaj, Al-Mabaq, Al-Buwarah Shamliyah, Bir Al-Rawdah, Al-Ajij, Fawq Al-Tallabah, Al-Awaj, Hadd Al-Janubi, Tallabah, Al-Barqah, Jabal Kabil, Al-Khaburah and Al-Shahidin this week.
As a result of this advance, the Syrian Democratic Forces have seized more border points with Iraq’s Al-Anbar Governorate, leaving the Islamic State with only one outlet to flee the US-backed troops in northeast Deir Ezzor.
The US-backed forces are now working to capture the Islamic State’s last two pockets in the Euphrates River Valley.
