BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:45 A.M.) – The US-backed forces seized more ground from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in northeast Al-Hasakah on Saturday, forcing the terrorist group to retreat further southeast towards the Iraqi border.
Backed by US and French airstrikes, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) seized the towns of Tal Jayer and Khuwaybrah and more than ten farms that were held by the Islamic State for four years.
The Syrian Democratic Forces claimed that they killed at least 25 Islamic State militants and destroyed three armored vehicles near the terrorist stronghold of Al-Dashishah in northeastern Al-Hasakah.
According to SDF media, their troops are now working to cutoff the Islamic State’s supply lines to the town of Al-Dashishah.
