BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:05 P.M.) – The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured another oil field inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate, today, after a short battle with the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).
Led by their Deir Ezzor Military Council, the SDF began the day by capturing several sites along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, including the towns of Abu Hardoub and Hasiyat.
With these towns captured this morning, the SDF was able to impose full control over the Murad Oil Field, which is situated northeast of Abu Hardoub and directly east of the Euphrates River.
The Islamic State is now confined to several small pockets in the eastern part of Deir Ezzor; they also no longer control any border territory.
