BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) – A commander from the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Polat Can, tweeted on Tuesday that Russia was “coordinating with terrorists.”
“It’s now confirmed for the whole world how strong is the level of coordination between Russia and terrorist groups including Islamic State (IS) terrorists. The recent agreement between Russia and IS in Damascus is one loop of the Russian series of agreements with terrorism,” Polat Can said, as quoted by Wladimir van Wilgenburg of the Region.
The US-backed forces and Syrian Arab Army (SAA) have traded accusations of coordinating with ISIS in the Deir Ezzor Governorate recently.
Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad stated on Wednesday that the US was still aiding terrorists in Syria, despite claiming that they are withdrawing soon.
