US and French forces began to abandon their positions near the city of Manbij in northern Syria, a source close to the Arab-Kurdish formations of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told Sputnik on Wednesday.

“The US forces left Al-Qaziyah position in the town of Al-Shuyuh, east of Manbij, and from their position in the village of Al-Asheq near Tell Abiad, in the direction of the US base located in Ayn Issa in the Raqqa province, preparing complete withdrawal from Syria,” the source said.

According to the source, the French military also left a number of their positions in the Manbij area in the province of Aleppo and in Ayn Issa in the province of Raqqa.

Earlier in the day, the White House announced removal of all service members currently on the ground in Syria, and the Pentagon said they have already started the process of returning US troops home. All State Department staff will evacuate from Syria within 24 hours, according to media reports.
Syria has been in a state of conflict since 2011, with numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations fighting the Syrian Arab Army in an attempt to topple the government of Bashar Al-Assad. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is one of the guarantor states of the Syrian ceasefire.
The US-led coalition of more than 70 countries is conducting military operations against the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia) in Syria and Iraq.
The coalition’s operations in Iraq are conducted in cooperation with the Iraqi government, but those in Syria are not authorized by the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.

I still repeat the contract has been signed the other day between Trump and Erdogan. Turkey buys American Patriots instead of Russian S400. In favor USA will pull out from Syria and Kurds. Money talks again. Kurds are screwed up if they don’t join Syrian Government very soon…

Patience is required otherwise an excuse to remain will be created. Once it is announced that all troops have left then any American killed in Al Tanaf or elsewhere will have a hard job explaining their presence.

Also the Turks will probably tone down their rhetoric regarding the Saudi’s torture and murder of journalist, Khashoggi. There will be no Interpol alerts out for Prince Salman and his 14+ henchmen.

With the sudden departure of the Americans and their froggie side-kicks, my question now is what will the Russians play in the events unfolding. Since both the Americans and NATO apparently are giving Turkey and their jihadi proxies free reign to conquer N. Syria, that would prove unexceptable to Damascus. Will the Russians help the Syrians with air cover (and the Kurds if they come to some agreement with the Syrian Government) against a calculating, neo-Ottoman Turkey bent on seizing Syrian land and oil? That is the question that needs a prompt answer which will have profound geo-political implications for… Read more »

Keep calm and watch. Russians will play their cards. Just give them a little bit of time. First thing I predict since the Sultan signed the contract for buying American Patriots instead of buying the Russian S400 is Putin is not going to care about Erdogan’s Idlib so much and give a green light to SAA to attack Idlib. They are just waiting patiently now until those retarded US terrorists leave Syria once and for all…

Let us remember that Turkey is a NATO member and USA allied. So, there was a agreement between USA-Turkey for USA to do this withdrawn. Maybe USA-NATO has passed kurds area to Turkey control. LEt us see later on.

State Department personnel? The United States does not have diplomatic relations with Syria. These are special services officers, guilty of obeying illegal orders to commit terrorism and aggression. All should be put on trial.
