BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 A.M.) – The U.S. Air Force allegedly struck the Kurdish-led “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) positions west of Raqqa City, the Islamic State’s official media wing “Al-Amaq” reported on Tuesday.
“US warplanes mistakenly bombed PKK (Kurdish militia) elements near the village of Ja’ber north of Tabaqa City,” Al-Amaq alleged in a statement released on Telegram.
The Islamic State often refers to the Kurdish forces in Syria and Iraq as the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which is an attempt to depict groups like the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and SDF as a terrorist entity.
The SDF’s command has not commented on this matter, nor have they confirmed any such airstrike occurred on Tuesday.
