DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:55 P.M.) – Turkey has ordered its proxy rebel groups to confiscate weapons of Jaysh al-Islam militants upon arriving at Jarabulus city from Eastern Ghouta.

According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Turkish-backed fighters of the Euphrates Shield seized all weapons of the Saudi-sponsored militiamen who had been evacuated from the city of Douma in East Ghouta.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia (the main backer of Jaysh al-Islam) are known to be political rivals over the support of the Muslim Brotherhood group.

While Turkey vehemently supports the group in different Arab countries, Saudi Arabia toppled the former Egyptian president Mohammed Mursi who was affiliated with the Muslim brotherhood.
