BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:15 P.M.) – At approximately 11:55 P.M. (local time), several projectiles struck the T-4 Military Airport in the eastern countryside of the Idlib Governorate.
According to a field report from eastern Homs, the Syrian air defense units quickly responded to the missile strikes by attempting to intercept a number of the projectiles.
The report said the Syrian military was able to intercept some of the projectiles, while the remaining hit the T-4 Airbase.
State-owned Syrian TV indicated that the missiles were fired from enemy warplanes; however, there has been no confirmation from the Syrian military at this point.
At least one soldier has been reportedly killed and two others are critically wounded, Syrian TV added.
The Israeli Air Force attacked southwestern Syria last night, hitting several targets near the Damascus Governorate town of Al-Kiswah. Israel claimed the attack was in retaliation for the two projectiles that were fired towards the occupied Golan Heights.
