BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) – The Iranian Armed Forces released footage of their first ever airborne operation during their Al-Aqatdar-99 military maneuvers along the southern coast of the Islamic Republic.
According to the Iranian Armed Forces, their airborne units carried out an offensive operation during the drills, which is a rarity because their exercises are primarily held for defensive purposes.
In addition to the airborne operation, the Iranian Armed Forces’ naval units can be seen taking part in the drills along the Makran coast of Iran.
As shown in the video below, the Iranian Armed Forces completed the operation successfully, as this was the first time ever that something of this sort has been publicly carried out by the Islamic Republic.
On Tuesday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) commander, General Hossein Soleimani, said that the purpose of these drills are being purposely carried out during the last hours of U.S. President Donald Trump’s tenure in the oval office.
In conjunction with these drills, the Islamic Republic also announced sanctions against Trump and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as part of their farewell to this administration.
