DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:13 P.M.) – The Secretary General of the United Nations has just called for international aid to be delivered to Gaza after his first visit to the strip.
Antonio Guterres (UN Secretary General) has called on Israel to immediately end their 11 year ongoing blockade of Gaza, also labelling the situation as a “dramatic humanitarian crisis” that must be immediately solved.
This is a complete change in tone – from earlier claiming that liberating Palestine to the 1948 is “modern anti-semitism” – after Israel ignored his statements on settlements being a “roadblock to peace” earlier this week, making a strong statement to the UN through their actions.
Israel’s defense minister has since declared Hebron as an official Israeli settlement, Netanyahu also took to a crowd of cheering Israelis stating that “we are here to stay, forever” (referring to West Bank settlements).
Guterres is still on a peace keeping mission in the holy land as verbal tensions rise between Israel and the UN.
