Damasco, Siria – Al amanecer el Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) golpeó duramente las posiciones de los jihadistas en la planicie de Khanassir, tomando el control de varios puntos estratégicos luego de fuertes choques con Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) y sus aliados islamistas.

Con cientos de marines sirios convergiendo en la zona el miércoles, las fuerzas del gobierno movilizaron todas las tropas disponibles esta mañana y rápidamente liberaron las villas de Hajjarah Kabbera, Hajjarah Saghera, Jibb Awad además del pueblo fronterizo de al-Rashadiyah.

De acuerdo al corresponsal de AMN, Ibrahim Joudeh, el EAS trabaja para expandir la zona de amortiguamiento alrededor de la carretera que permite aprovisionar Alepo, realizándose en este momento operaciones para avanzar hacia nuevas villas ocupadas por los terroristas de HTS.

En el pasado, fuerzas jihadistas utilizaron al-Rashadiyah como un punto de concentración para lanzar breves ataques a la carretera entre Hama y Alepo, representando una amenaza constante al flujo de provisiones para esa capital provincial.

Mientras tanto, 40 kilómetros al sur, tropas sirias al mando del Mayor General Mohammad Khaddour están lanzando ataques de prueba en las líneas defensivas jihadistas para identificar puntos débiles, con el objetivo de continuar avanzando tras la liberación de varias villas la semana pasada.
