The Iranian vessel that was seized by the British Royal Marines was carrying an estimated two million barrels of oil destined for the Syrian portcity of Tartous, a Syrian government source told Al-Masdar News.

The Iranian supertanker, Grace 1, reportedly took an unorthodox route that resulted in the vessel bypassing the heavily monitored Suez Canal; however, the ship was being closely monitored by the British authorities, who later deployed their Royal Marines to seize it.

The government source said the supertanker’s oil was eventually destined for the Baniyas Refinery in northwestern Tartous; it was being repaired after a mysterious attack on Syria’s Mediterranean pipeplines.

Syria, who is under heavy sanctions from the E.U. and the United States, was reliant on this Iranian oil shipment, as the country uses the petrol for a number of different purposes, including things like providing electricity to the Syrian people.

Since U.S. President Donald Trump took office in late 2016, Iran has found themselves under the same sanctions that were imposed on the Islamic Republic before the implementation of the 2015 Nuclear deal.

These western sanctions have restricted Iran from delivering oil to wartorn Syria, which has left the Syrian people in a dire situation.

In addition to blocking foreign oil from reaching Syria’s shores, the U.S and their Coalition partners are in control of most of the Levantine country’s oil fields.

The U.S. has specifically blocked this oil from reaching millions of Syrians living under the government, which is where most of the population lives.

That is worth over $ 120 million in USD and worth over 5 trillion in Iranian Rial.
That is a big chunk of money Iran can not use. We know why that oil ship was hijacked.
United ISIS States, United ISIS Kingdom and ISISrael want to make Iran even more weaker in resource, financially and militarily before they can start attacking Iran.

>>> Ah, money is the nerve of war!

+++ “before they can start attacking Iran.”
>>> Attacking Iran is not considered. Just demolishing its disgusting regime. We are not against the Iranian people, in fact, we stand by the Iranian people : 80% of Iranians despise this regime. The mullahs shall go.

Will the tanker and the crude return back to Iran after all it is Iranian Oil. This is so sad, so many Syrian civilians also will get affected due to fuel shortage. Brits have become the Alsatian guard dogs and obey his master’s command. Syrians posed no threat to Brits and US and yet the Brits US & Israel continue to attack Syria. They are all attaching a lot of Bad Karma due to the illegitimate actions which will come back to haunt them sooner.

Israel is only attacking Iran/Hezbollah arms depot. Hezbollah attacks Israel for 37 years and is funded by Iran and cocaine trafficking. They only reap what they’ve sown and Israel really restraint itself too much. Moshe Dayan was more efficient as a DM than Bibi. Maybe Bibi should take Gantz as DM : he was IDF joint chief of staff… Best DMs are either former JCoS or historians. +++ “This is so sad, so many Syrian civilians also will get affected due to fuel shortage” >>> Syria must become neutral, Assad REALLY MUST understand this. It’s the only way to guarantee… Read more »

Where is the problem? Stealing from infidels is legal in Sharia law. They just gave a taste of its own medicine to the Islamic regime of Iran : If mussies have the right to steal from kafir, so kafir has the right to steal from mussie…

I doubt any Syrian civilians would have gained any benefit should the tanker had made it to Syria. It’s just another lost skirmish in Iran’s war against the world.
