On Thursday, the U.S. Coalition parachuted a large cache of weapons to the rebel fighters that are surrounded by the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the city of Mar’e in northern Aleppo.
According to rebel social media activists, the U.S. Coalition parachuted these weapons to the rebel fighters inside Mar’e at 4 A.M on Thursday morning.
The rebel groups currently combating the Islamic State forces in Mar’e are Faylaq Al-Sham, Jabhat Al-Shamiya, and the Al-Mutasem Brigade; these groups are primarily Islamists.
This weapons drop is the first time the U.S. Coalition has delivered weapons like this to any group besides the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
