DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:55 A.M.) – U.S. Air Force targeted a post for the Syrian Army in east Homs, killing at least 2 servicemen.
The aggression took place near al-Ghurab Mountain close to the U.S. Tanf airbase.
The reasons behind the attack are still unknown.
However, according to sources, the airstrike might have been conducted to prevent the Syrian forces from setting up an advanced post close to the U.S. base.
Troops from the Iranian Revolutionary Forces are fighting ISIS alongside the Syrian Army in the Syrian Desert, which puts them in close contact the US base.
According to The Washington Post, the United States has been concerned over the possibility of Iranian forces, fighting in support of the Syrian government, seizing the US outpost in al-Tanf.
