The General Command of Bahrain Defence Forces declared, in a statement issued today, that two officers fighting for the Saudi-led coalition have been killed in Yemen.
The statement said that both Captain Ahmed Mohammed Amin and Captain Mubarak Saad al-Rumaihi were killed in an “accident” near Saudi Arabia’s southern borders, without mentioning further details.
Saudi Arabia heads a coalition of nine Arab states against Houthi rebels in neighboring Yemen. The coalition has been carrying out airstrikes, imposing aerial and naval blockade since March 26.
Member states that suffer major losses kept a media blockade policy on the number of troops killed in the worn-torn Yemen.
Last September, the shocking death of 45 Emirati troops has raised public discontent and forced the UAE government to recruit Colombian mercenaries to replace its soldiers in Yemen.
