BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – On Tuesday, the Turkish military conducted their 5th patrol of the year across the demilitarized zone in southern Idlib and northern Hama.
According to reports, the Turkish military patrolled from the town of Morek in northern Hama to the large city of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man in southern Idlib.
The Turkish military was reportedly escorted by members of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, who is the largest jihadist group currently operating inside of northern Syria.
Below is a video from the STEP News Agency showing the Turkish military patrolling the southeastern part of the Idlib demilitarized zone:
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has been designated as a terrorist group by both the Syrian and Russian governments.
Per the September 17th Sochi Agreement, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham must withdraw from the demilitarized zone; however, they have refused to adhere to any of the guidelines from this agreement.
