BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – On Tuesday, the Turkish military conducted their 5th patrol of the year across the demilitarized zone in southern Idlib and northern Hama.

According to reports, the Turkish military patrolled from the town of Morek in northern Hama to the large city of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man in southern Idlib.

The Turkish military was reportedly escorted by members of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, who is the largest jihadist group currently operating inside of northern Syria.

Below is a video from the STEP News Agency showing the Turkish military patrolling the southeastern part of the Idlib demilitarized zone:

Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has been designated as a terrorist group by both the Syrian and Russian governments.

Per the September 17th Sochi Agreement, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham must withdraw from the demilitarized zone; however, they have refused to adhere to any of the guidelines from this agreement.

Yep!. It seems that after all their backing of different jihadi groups since 2011 the Turks have settled on the al-Qaeda spinoff, HTS.

Turkey must go back home, who care what it is patrolled. Russia must stop pleasing Turkey and allow SAA offensive on Idlib.

And if the Syrian Government and the US backed Kurds could co-ordinate their attacks on the Turks and the Turkish backed jihadis in N. Syria they would both benefit. At this stage, I don’t think the Americans would mind seeing Erdogan being taken down a peg or two even though Turkey is nominally in NATO.
