BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 P.M.) – The military chief of the Turkish Army, General Hulusi Akar, made a scheduled visit to southern Turkey on Friday to inspect his troops near the border, the state-owned Anadolu Agency reported.
According to the Anadolu report, General Akar was accompanied by the land forces commander General Yasar Guler, Air Force commander Hasan Kucukakyuz, and Naval Forces commadner Adnan Ozbal.
The commanders reportedly visited the southern province of Kilis, where a large number of Turkish Army soldiers are currently stationed.
No further details were released.
The Turkish military has been inside of Syria for most of the year, as they have established a dozen legal observation posts across the northern part of the country.
