The Turkish-backed forces managed to make a dent in the Afrin Canton on Monday, capturing several areas from the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) after opening up a new front in northern Aleppo.
According to pro-opposition media, the Turkish-backed forces captured the Barsaya Mountain Military Camp, along with the towns of Sheikh Zuhur, Sheikh Basi, Marso, and Haftar.
The gains made by the Turkish-backed rebel are illustrated in the opposition map at the top of this article.
Since this map’s release, the Kurdish forces have reported that they have recaptured two towns from the Turkish-backed rebels; however, this remains unconfirmed.
