BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.)- The Turkish Armed Forces continued their push in northern Syria on Saturday, seizing several sites from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
According to a report on Saturday, the Turkish Armed Forces were able to cutoff the Hasakah-Aleppo Highway after capturing at least 18 villages from the Syrian Democratic Forces in the Tal Abyad and Ras Al-‘Ayn countrysides.
As a result of these advances, the Turkish Armed Forces were able to not only cutoff the Hasakah-Aleppo Highway, but they also cutoff the Hasakah-Manbij Road, Qamishli-Hasakah Road, and the Tal Abyad-‘Ayn ‘Issa Road.
The Turkish Armed Forces and their militant allies are now working to fully encircle the Syrian Democratic Forces and the People’s Protection Units (YPG) along the vast border region.
The SDF and YPG forces will likely withdraw from these areas before they are fully encircled, but, at this time, they are trying to hold on as long as they can.
