BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:30 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) reportedly captured a village from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near the strategic city of Menbeij, opposition media claimed on Monday.

The Free Syrian Army reportedly captured Qalasha village on Monday after launching a surprise attack against the Syrian Democratic Forces west of Menbeij.

According to a statement released by the Turkish-backed rebels, four Kurdish fighters were killed prior to their withdrawal from Qalasha on Monday afternoon.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced last week that his army and their rebel allies would attack Menbeij after Al-Bab; so far, his statement has mostly come true, as the Syrian Democratic Forces have been targeted on several occasions near the city.
