BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:15 P.M.) – For the third time in the last 72 hours, the Turkish-backed rebels have managed to seize several areas from the Kurdish-led YPG forces in the Afrin region.

Led by the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the Turkish-backed rebels managed to impose fire control over the strategic town of Rajou this afternoon, following an intense battle with the YPG forces.

In addition to their advance at Rajou in northwest Afrin, the Turkish-backed rebels also scored a big advance in the southern countryside of this region, seizing a number of areas at the Jandaris axis.

The Turkish-backed rebels are now attempting to clear the last towns under YPG control near Jandaris.

Fair play to the Turks. Looking at the map, my scepticism and worry levels are dropping rapidly……but of course they may increase again tomorrow.

Nice advance in the valleys. But will the Turks ever clear the mountains?

p.s. Short of a genocide the Turks cannot win against the Kurds. The efforts of the cradle are against them. Even in Anatolia.
