BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:10 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed rebels continued their advance in the ‘Afrin region of northern Aleppo, today, seizing several villages from the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Led by the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the Turkish-backed rebels reportedly captured five villages in southern ‘Afrin after a short engagement with the YPG forces.

According to pro-opposition media, the Turkish-backed rebels captured the villages of Basouta, Adi Reyhalah, Karazleh, ‘Ayn Dara, and Kufayr in the southern countryside of ‘Afrin.

As a result of this advance, the Turkish-backed rebels are now only 7km away from the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) front-lines in northern Aleppo.
