Yesterday, the so called “Islamic State of Iraq Al-Sham” (ISIS) carried out a surprise attack on a Turkish military base that is being used to train Iraqi fighters in northern Iraq.

According to the Turkish President Recep Erdogan, the Turkish Army confronted the encroaching ISIS militants at their military camp near the city of Mosul on Friday, killing all 18 terrorists that tried to infiltrate their positions.

The Turkish President alleged that no Turkish military personnel were killed during the terrorist groups onslaught at the army camp near Bashiqa in the Nineveh Governorate’s northern countryside.

Erdogan added:

“Our armed forces there – specifically, our officers providing the training – are prepared for any kind of attacks or raids, or anything that happens.”

Erdogan delivered this speech after Friday prayers in Ankara.

@leithfadel Wow, a year after they declared war against IS without firing a single shot to their friends afterwards. Finally?
