BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:25 P.M.) – The official social media account for the Euphrates Shield offensive announced on Tuesday morning that the Turkish Army established full control over the strategic village of Al-Sulfaniyah in east Al-Bab after a fierce battle with the Islamic State forces.

It took the Turkish Army and their rebel allies a dozen attempts to seize Al-Sulfaniyah after suffering heavy losses at the hands of the Islamic State forces over the course of January.

Al-Sulfaniyah is located directly northeast of Al-Bab and was considered the gateway to this Islamic State stronghold in east Aleppo.

With Al-Sulfaniyah captured, the Turkish Army can now turn their attention to Al-Bab, where they look to expel the Islamic State forces from this strategic city once and for all.

As a staunch SAA defending site, you don’t really have any right to mock any other faction for failing a lot of times to take a village; how many hundreds of times have the SAA tried to Kabane in Latakia? Or was it thousands?

SAA in Latakia before mid 2016. That was when the defenders had good weapons and the attackers were brave but technically outclassed. People here mock because Erdogan and other Turk chauvinists had boasted with their army as second strongest ground force in the NATO. They had often shelled and bullied the SAA along the border. But when their forces made the real acid test against IS they failed. p.s. Why? It is not only the number that counts. You need modern arms and good training. Both cost a lot.

I do not think they censor here. But have technical problems.
I sometimes have problems too – and I do not animadvert.
