BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:35 P.M.) – Turkish Army officers took to several social media platforms on Wednesday and Thursday to accuse the Syrian military of carrying out airstrikes against their soldiers in the Al-Bab Plateau of east Aleppo.
Despite these accusations by Turkish Army officers, a Syrian military source told Al-Masdar News that these claims are completely false, adding that their air force has not attacked any Islamic State positions at Al-Bab’s northern and eastern flanks.
The Syrian Arab Army and Turkish Armed Forces both launched offensives in east Aleppo in January, targeting the Islamic State’s final positions around the Al-Bab Plateau.
While the Syrian Arab Army has made significant gains in the Al-Bab Plateau, the Turkish Armed Forces have been stagnate, launching several attacks with little-to-no success at all.
