BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Turkish Air Force launched a powerful assault across the northern region of Iraq on Wednesday, the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces reported this morning.

The Turkish General Staff tweeted that their warplanes destroyed several targets belonging to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in a number of regions in northern Iraq.

In particular, the Turkish General Staff said that their warplanes targeted the Hakurk, Avasin-Basyan, Sinath-Haftanin, Metina and Qandil regions of northern Iraq.

The total number of dead from these airstrikes is unknown and the level of destruction is also unknown.

Since the PKK currently has a large presence in northern Iraq, the Turkish Air Force has been working overtime to target and destroy their bases and trenches.

High time for Kurds to stop abusing locals in NE Syria. Locals in Iraq N. Plains want Kurds out of power due to their abuses. Perhaps the government is listening.
