BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:40 P.M.) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Tuesday that his military will resume their operations in northern Syria.
“We will continue to do what is necessary for our nation’s tranquility,” Erdogan stated during an AKP meeting on Tuesday.
“We will also do what is necessary in the northern part of Syria,” he added.
Earlier this year, the Turkish military and their rebel allies launched a massive offensive in Aleppo’s northwestern countryside that targeted the YPG-held Afrin region.
The Turkish-backed rebels would take full control of the Afrin region after a two month long battle that displaced over 100,000 civilians.
